Science Communication Portfolio

My goal is to bridge the communication gap between scientists and their audiences by creating visual media that is both aesthetically compelling and scientifically valuable.

Last year, 2025, I created this activity booklet to engage a younger audience with Community Snow Observations, a citizen science effort to collect snow depth measurements. It is available at Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) locations including Pinkham Notch and Highland Center, and has been distributed to local schools and used in classroom programing.

I designed this poster earlier this year, in 2026, as part of my job with Appalachian Mountain Club. This poster has been printed large format and displayed at the Harriman Outdoor Center in NY. The goal of this poster is to increase iNaturalist use in the park by engaging visitors. AMC’s iNaturalist projects have limited engagement in the Mid-Atlantic, and this is part of a concerted effort to have more even spacial distribution of observations.

I created this article in 2022 as part of an independent project. I collaborated with Dr. Mehmet Cetin to create products for different target audiences, including a youth activity book, magazine article for a general audience, and a visual abstract for scientists. This is the article for the general public, with all photography and writing done by me.
