Japan

I didn’t go to Japan to take photos, but the images framed themselves during cherry blossom season. A month of photos in themed galleries.

This was my first time in Montana and I was amazed by the scenery. I spent ten days around Red Lodge and aimed to capture the area surrounding the Beartooth Mountains and the animals that live there.

Picture Perfect

I’ve been going to this bike race for most of my life, from watching my dad race to riding in the kids’ ride to providing handups in the feed zone. This year I brought my camera and took photos for DC Velo.

My favorite thing is combining my biology degree and my photography by using my photos to help people relate to scientific concepts. Here I combined photos and field sketches so hikers can identify spring ephemerals in Minnesota. Each one is accompanied by an informational card that gives information to help identify the plant and puts it in a cultural context to make it more memorable.
